MotherApp Receives Walk21HK CityTech Award

On October 5, MotherApp was honored at the Walk21 Hong Kong Conference with a prestigious CityTech Award for its innovative Walk Now app concept.

Walk21 Hong Kong, co-sponsored by Walk21 and Civic Exchange, is an international, five-day conference which aims to promote livable communities and walking. Walk21 Hong Kong recognizes that environments which place focus on pedestrians promote economic growth, healthy lifestyles, and social equality and inclusion.

At this year’s conference, more than 500 delegates, including city mayors, industry experts, business leaders, civil society organizations and leading academics gathered to share ideas to promote walking in urban areas. The participants discussed how to impact local policy to promote walking, and they established a network to continue their efforts in the coming months.

The conference culminated with a competition centered around “Innovation and Ideas for Implementing Walkability.” The organizers honored the most innovative walking-related technological ideas with the Walk21 Hong Kong CityTech Award.

MotherApp has long been a pioneer in creating innovative iOS solutions to enhance walking experience. As an example of its work to promote walking, MotherApp created the innovative Walk Now app concept – a real­-time walk recommendation app which promotes a healthy lifestyle in urban areas. MotherApp is proud of the recognition it received from the Walk21 Hong Kong conference for its hard work.

Also during this year’s Walk 21 Hong Kong Conference, MotherApp showcased its people flow tracking IoT solution, called PFlow, which collects, consolidates and distributes crowd flow data in real-time. This technology is currently used by Ocean Park Hong Kong to monitor visitor flow in order to improve operational efficiency and enhance visitor experience.
